As a professor, I organize and execute classes on introductory earth science, introductory general science, and upper- and graduate-level topics on mass and energy transfer in the Earth.  I've recently taught upper-level courses minerals, rocks, groundwater, and crustal deformation, and graduate-level courses on geochemistry and geodynamics.

I also engage in active research on magmatic environments - plutons and volcanoes.  I'm keenly interested in the processes that gave rise to the Southern Oklahoma Aulacogen as evidenced in the Wichita Mountains and the subsurface of the region.  I manage a lab for the analysis of earth materials that includes X-Ray Diffractometer and WDS Fluorescence, and help manage my college's SEM-EDS facility.
